Mold Toxicity
Many patients fall prey to opiate addiction because they suffer from undiagnosed Mold Toxicity. Dr. Sponaugle has diagnosed over 500 patients with Opiate addiction caused by undiagnosed Trichothecene toxicity. Many of these addicted patients had undergone detox at multiple rapid detox centers or drug rehab at rehab centers only to relapse in weeks because of Toxin induced anxiety and panic disorder. These patients use Oxycontin to calm their anxious brains! – their anxiety is caused excessive accumulation of Mold mycotoxins in their brain.

Dr. Sponaugle uses his Brain Wellness Program to successfully treat many patients, especially female patients, who suffer with “refractory” depression, fibromyalgia and severe chronic fatigue. Healing Brain Damage from Opiate Addiction Prevents Alzheimer’s Disease
Alzheimer’s Disease has doubled since 1980. The best way you can prevent suffering from early Alzheimer’s disease is to increase blood flow to your brain and work diligently to decrease the biotoxins that increase brain inflammation. OxyContin and Methadone addiction markedly decrease your brain blood flow!
Drug addiction, especially addiction to opiate pain medications like Oxycontin and Methadone causes marked loss of blood flow in the brain as seen on the SPECT brain imaging. On these brain scans, brain regions suffering less than 50 percent of normal blood flow are represented by holes. Obviously, OxyContin addiction and Methadone addiction increase risk for developing early Alzheimer’s Disease.
Methadone treatment has proven to be create worse looking brain scans than abuse of street drugs. Patients who are prescribed opiate pain medication by their doctors and patients who take OxyContin or Roxycodone on a daily basis, have brains that suffer from reduced blood flow. Reduced blood flow means less oxygen, decreased delivery of nutrients and decreased washout of toxins.

SPECT studies from the Amen Clinic and PET studies from the National Institute of Drug Addiction, NIDA, have proven it takes one year of abstinence from drugs and alcohol for the brain scan to return to normal.

Deborah was prescribed Methadone from her Methadone Clinic at a dose of 100 mgs per day for 20 years. She also suffered a Xanax addiction of 20 mgs a day. She underwent Dr. Sponaugle’s METHADONE DETOX in October of 2008.

Lyme Disease – Depression, Anxiety, Insomnia, Chronic Fatigue, Fibromyalgia And Addiction
Dr. Sponaugle’s non-addicted “wellness patients” often suffer from a “mystery” disease. Many have traveled to numerous university medical centers attempting to find the cause of their suffering – physical and mental demise. Many have been given medical labels such as Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Multiple Sclerosis, Lou Gehrig’s disease, Alzheimer’s, Autism, Bipolar and even Paranoid Schizophrenia.
Testing routinely proves the real culprit is the Lyme Spirochete. These patients frequently have a combination of stealth infections and severe neurotoxicity, disorders rarely diagnosed by America’s Medical Centers, yet, commonly diagnosed in European Medical Centers.
Undiagnosed neurotoxicity from Mold Mycotoxins like Trichothecene and aromatic solvent toxins like Benzene down regulate the immune system producing low white cell counts, low natural killer cell counts, low CD4/CD8 ratios and low antibody counts allowing intracellular organisms like the Lyme spirochete to wreak havoc inside the brain’s neurons. Recent research has proven that the Lyme spirochete can move into brain cells within 12 hours of a tick bite.
The Lyme spirochete can produce multiple debilitating symptoms. Typical symptoms can include any of the following;
Depression, brain fog, early memory loss, chronic fatigue [so severe that forty year old women use walkers, anxiety disorders, panic disorders, sleep deprivation and insomnia, fibromyalgia, chronic headaches [often misdiagnosed as migraines] cold fingers and toes, decreased visual acuity, difficulty differentiating navy blue and black socks, blurred vision, dizziness upon standing, feeling like someone has tied a 25 pound cement block to each leg, total body pain, joint pain, muscle pain.
The Lyme Spirochete enters the brain tissue within 12 hours of a tick or mosquito bite. Lyme disease can cause severe mental changes. Dr. Sponaugle has proven that Lyme disease has great causation in addiction because Lyme patients develop depression, anxiety insomnia, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, joint pain and muscle pain – all of which cause patients to become addicted, either through self-medication or through physician prescriptions.
Lyme and Parkinson’s
Recent autopsy studies in Europe on the brains of patients with Parkinson’s disease found the Lyme spirochete embedded in the substantia niagra of every patient. The substantia niagra is the brain region that becomes underactive in Parkinson’s disease.
A recent study on 150 ALS patients found the Lyme Spirochete in all 150 patients. Dr. Sponaugle just diagnosed Kevin Turner with Lyme Disease, Kevin is the NFL fullback recently diagnosed with ALS or Lou Gherig’s disease.
Dr. Sponaugle diagnoses Lyme Disease in 40 percent of his addicted patients and in 80 percent of his chronic fatigue/fibromyalgia/chronic headache patients. The old Lyme antibody test, the best we had until October of 2010, had a 58 percent false negative, it missed Lyme infection in 6 of every 10 patients!!
Dr. Sponaugle has since October 2010, used a new Lyme test that measures antibodies and cytokines that are specific to the Lyme spirochete. Cytokines are the inflammatory chemicals that respond to a foreign body protein and “turn on” our immune kill power. Dr. Sponaugle has already diagnosed 50 new Lyme patients since November of 2010.

Why The Increased Prevalence of Lyme Disease?
Since World War II, we have destroyed many of the deer’s natural predators while protecting the deer population. Our grandparents regularly consumed deer as a food source, however today, most Americans prefer enjoying the visitation of Bambi on their lawn. The evolving problem is that the deer population has experienced rapid growth. Today Americans can easily contract Lyme Disease without going into the woods to camp or hike. All it takes is one walk through your lawn in shorts and a pair of sandals and you can easily get bitten by the deer tick Bambi dropped off last night.
Because the deer tick has an anesthetic it injects with it’s bite, you will never know you have been bitten. Furthermore, Dr. Sponaugle has suggested to his patients for more than five years that, it will be proven some day that mosquitoes carry the Lyme bacterium. Well, 18 months ago a research lab in Orlando Florida pulled the Lyme spirochete out of the blood of mosquitoes, who has not been bitten by a mosquito.
Kevin Turner NFL Fullback – BRAIN TRAUMA – LYME DISEASE – Mold Toxicity
Dr. Sponaugle is currently treating Kevin Turner, a retired NFL player whose name has recently made the news because he developed Lou Gherig’s disease, ALS, from NFL head trauma. Kevin was diagnosed with ALS by neurology professors at Boston University Medical Center.
Kevin asked Dr. Sponaugle if he could possibly prevent the progression of his ALS. Kevin was experiencing weekly progression of the weakness in his upper extremities. Dr. Sponaugle diagnosed Kevin with several neurotoxins and Lyme disease, all of which were exacerbating the damage caused by NFL head trauma.
Dr. Sponaugle began treating Kevin with his intravenous toxin removal program and his Lyme Treatment protocol. Kevin responded very well with increased strength in his arms and the progression of his ALS has stopped.
Lauren – Alabama Gynecologist – Lyme Disease – Mold Toxicity
Lauren is a gynecologist who became disabled at age 38 after receiving treatment for Lyme disease by university doctors from her alma mata, University of Alabama, a great medical center. Unfortunately, they still attempt to treat Lyme Disease with antibiotics. Their treatment for Lauren’s Lyme infection consisted of two years of mega dose antibiotics which almost killed her, she became bed ridden and almost wheel chair bound. Alexa – Dr. Sponaugle’s Daughter – Lyme Disease
Four years ago, Dr. Sponaugle became personally acquainted with debilitating Lyme disease when his 12 year old daughter became so weak and lethargic from an overpowering Lyme infection that she could not attend school. Alexa had always been a horse lover and she slept with her little house dog, Snookie. A 2009 Veterinarian study in New jersey tested 90 horses for Lyme disease, 80 of 90 were positive for Lyme even though they were using the antiquated antibody test that misses 60 percent of Lyme infections!!
Dr. Sponaugle makes notes and quotes when he interviews patients, notes similar to “Dances with Wolves” only in the case of his patients the notes are more like “Sleeps with Dogs” and “Loves Riding Horses” or “Loves to hunt and camp in the Woods.”
These notes assist Dr. Sponaugle in remembering pertinent facts about each patient’s history that may indicate additional testing is indicated.
Female patients often argue with Dr. Sponaugle that their little “house dog” could never get a tick stuck in it’s fluffy little fur, after all, “Foo Foo and Snookie only go outside for two minutes to “potty.” Unfortunately, two minutes is just enough time for the deer tick Bambi dropped off last night to jump on little Snookie. When patients sleep with their dogs, the deer tick can readily move from the dog onto the patient.
Through the process of watching his daughter suffer severely with a Lyme infection, Dr. Sponaugle learned that all the self proclaimed “Lyme specialists” and who still utilize antibiotics rarely kill Lyme and the other tick borne bacterium like Bartonella. For that reason,. Dr. Sponaugle with the assistance of his wife and brother, designed a Lyme treatment program that has appeared to cure multiple Lyme patients since 2009, this statement is based on before and after laboratory results and the patient’s drastic improvement.
Many of these patients like Dr. Sponaugle’s daughter were made much worse by years of antibiotics. They developed more toxicity from the antibiotic induced gastrointestinal dysbiosis than the actual Lyme infection.
Many of Dr. Sponaugle’s Lyme patients are willing to talk to families suffering from Lyme disease, although there is no guarantee all patients will get the same results. The most important thing we can do to assist patients fighting Chronic Lyme is to up-regulate their own immune system.
Steve – Pentagon Top Gun – Lyme Disease
Steve’s testimony is on our website, he works in a high level – top security position for our government. For this reason, his Lyme treatment was directed by top Lyme doctors at both, John’s Hopkins Medical Center and Georgetown University Medical Center. After nine months of their mega dose antibiotic regimen, Steve suffered severe side effects not unlike all the Lyme patients Dr. Sponaugle has treated.

Multiple Sclerosis Caused by the Lyme Spirochete’s Toxin
Multiple Sclerosis is a major concern when patients suffer unsuccessful treatment for Lyme Disease. The Lyme toxin destroys the myelin sheath of brain neurons. Multiple Sclerosis is the diagnosis given to patients when “bright spots” or “white spots” are seen throughout the brain on an MRI, these white spots demonstrate scarring of myelin, the fatty insulation sheath that surrounds the axon of brain neurons.
Because America’s neurologists are naive in comparison to European neurologists regarding neurotoxicity in general, and in particular, the fact that some mold toxins and the toxin produced by the Borrellia Lyme bacterium can cause severe demyelination of nerve axons, they remain ill-knowledgeable that their Multiple Sclerosis patients often suffer from both, Lyme Disease with concomitant Mold Mycotoxicity.
Mycoplasma and Lyme – Concomitant Infections
Many Multiple Sclerosis patients Dr. Sponaugle diagnoses are suffering from undiagnosed Lyme disease and Mycoplasma, two “bugs” that live inside the body’s cells, these bugs destroy nerve tissue and like the Trichothecene T 2 Mold mycotoxin, they interfere with RNA-DNA replication in the nucleus of brain neurons.
Dr. Sponaugle has designed an aggressive intravenous Lyme treatment protocol that can successfully treat patients suffering from Lyme Disease and Multiple Sclerosis, as well as, other debilitating brain disorders such as ALS, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s and Autism.

These toxin ridden patients often state, “I catch every bug that comes around.” Their toxin induced, compromised immune status leaves them a setup for undiagnosed stealth infections like Lyme’s disease, Babesia, Bartonella and Mycoplasma. These “stealth bugs” drill their way into our cells, as intracellular bugs, they cause more insidious destruction.
