As of this writing, July 2011, 50 percent of Dr. Sponaugle’s patients are non-addicted “wellness patients” who suffer from a mystery diagnosis. Many have traveled to numerous university medical centers attempting to find the reason they suffer an accelerated physical and mental demise. Some have been given medical labels such as Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Multiple Sclerosis, Lou Gehrig’s disease, Alzheimer’s, Autism, Bipolar and even Paranoid Schizophrenia.
Dr. Sponaugle routinely proves the real culprit is the Lyme Spirochete. These patients frequently have a combination of stealth infections and severe neurotoxicity, disorders rarely diagnosed by America’s Medical Centers, yet, they are commonly diagnosed in European Medical Centers.
The combination of undiagnosed neurotoxicity and it’s ability to shut down the immune system allows stealth infections like Lyme to wreak havoc inside the brain’s neurons. Recent research has proven that the Lyme spirochete can move into brain cells within 12 hours of a tick bite. The Lyme spirochete can produce multiple debilitating symptoms. Typical symptoms can include any of the following;
Depression, brain fog, early memory loss, chronic fatigue so severe that forty year old women use wheel chairs, anxiety disorders, panic disorders, sleep deprivation and insomnia, fibromyalgia, chronic headache disorders diagnosed as migraine disorders, cold fingers and toes, decreased visual acuity, difficulty differentiating navy blue and black socks, blurred vision, dizziness upon standing quickly and from a physical perspective, the feeling that someone has tied a 25 pound cement block to each leg.
The Lyme Spirochete enters the brain tissue within 12 hours of a tick or mosquito bite. Lyme disease can cause severe mental changes. Dr. Sponaugle has proven that Lyme disease has great causation in addiction because Lyme patients develop depression, anxiety insomnia, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, joint pain and muscle pain – all of which cause patients to become addicted, either through self-medication or through physician prescriptions.
Recent autopsy studies in Europe on the brains of patients with Parkinson’s disease found the Lyme spirochete embedded in the substantia niagra of every patient. The substantia niagra is the brain region that becomes underactive in Parkinson’s disease.
A recent study on 150 patients who were diagnosed with ALS found the Lyme Spirochete in all 150 patients. Dr. Sponaugle diagnoses Lyme Disease in almost half of his addicted patients and in 80 percent of his chronic fatigue/fibromyalgia/chronic headache patients. The old Lyme antibody test, the best we had until October of 2010, had a 58 percent false negative, it missed Lyme infection in 6 of every 10 patients!!
Dr. Sponaugle has since October 2010, used a new Lyme test that measures antibodies and cytokines that are specific to the Lyme spirochete. Cytokines are the inflammatory chemicals that respond to a foreign body protein and “turn on” our immune kill power. Dr. Sponaugle has already diagnosed 50 new Lyme patients since November of 2010.

Why The Increased Prevalence of Lyme Disease?
Since World War II, we have destroyed many of the deer’s natural predators while protecting the deer population. Our grandparents regularly consumed deer as a food source, however today, most Americans prefer enjoying the visitation of Bambi on their lawn. The evolving problem is that the deer population has experienced rapid growth. Today Americans can easliy contract Lyme Disease without going into the woods to camp or hike. All it takes is one walk through your lawn in shorts and a pair of sandals and you can easily get bitten by the deer tick Bambi dropped off last night.
Because the deer tick has an anesthetic he injects with his bite, you will never know you have been bitten. Furthermore, Dr. Sponaugle has suggested to his patients for more than five years that, it will be proven some day that mosquitoes carry the Lyme bacterium. Well, 18 months ago a research lab in Orlando Florida pulled the Lyme spirochete out of the blood of mosquitoes, who has not been bitten by a mosquito.
KEVIN TURNER NFL FULLBACK – BRAIN TRAUMA - LYME DISEASE
Dr. Sponaugle is currently treating Kevin Turner, a retired NFL player whose name has recently made the news because he developed Lou Gherig’s disease, ALS, from NFL head trauma. Kevin was diagnosed with ALS by neurology professors at Boston University Medical Center.
Kevin asked Dr. Sponaugle if his Multiple Sclerosis or Brain Body Pro-aging program would possibly prevent the progression of his weakness. Kevin was experiencing weekly progression of weakness in his upper extremities. Dr. Sponaugle diagnosed Kevin with several neurotoxins and Lyme disease, all of which were exacerbating the damage caused by NFL head trauma.

Lauren – Gynecologist – Lyme Disease
Lauren is a gynecologist who became disabled at age 38 after receiving treatment for Lyme disease by the university doctors she trained with at the University of Alabama. Their treatment for Lauren’s Lyme infection consisted of two years of mega dose antibiotics until she became bed ridden and almost wheel chair bound. When Lauren came to Florida specifically for Dr. Sponaugle’s Lyme treatment program, she did not expect to make a full recovery, she was simply hoping to get well enough to cook for her three children.

Alexa – Dr. Sponaugle’s Daughter – Lyme Disease
Four years ago, Dr. Sponaugle became personally acquainted with debilitating Lyme disease when his 12 year old daughter became so weak and lethargic from an overpowering Lyme infection that she could not attend school. Alexa had always been a horse lover and she slept with her little house dog, Snookie. A 2009 Veterinarian study in New jersey tested 90 horses for Lyme disease, 80 of 90 were positive for Lyme even though they were using the antiquated antibody test that misses 60 percent of Lyme infections!!
Dr. Sponaugle makes notes and quotes when he interviews patients, notes similar to “Dances with Wolves” only in the case of his patients the notes are more like “Sleeps with Dogs” and “Loves Riding Horses” and “Loves to hunt and camp in the Woods.”
These notes assist Dr. Sponaugle in remembering pertinent facts about each patient’s history that may indicate additional testing is indicated.
Female patients often argue with Dr. Sponuagle that their little “house dog” could never get a tick stuck in it’s fluffy little fur, after all, “Foo Foo and Snookie only go outside for two minutes to go potty.” Unfortunately, two minutes is just enough time while “Foo Foo” is squatting in the grass for the tick Bambi dropped off last night to jump on FOO FOO or Snookie. When patients sleep with their dogs, the deer tick can readily move from FOO FOO onto the patient.
Through the process of watching his daughter suffer severely with a Lyme infection, Dr. Sponaugle learned that all the self proclaimed “Lyme specialists” and their western antibiotics rarely kill Lyme and the other tick borne bacterium like Bartonella. For that reason,. Dr. Sponaugle with the assistance of his wife and brother, designed a Lyme treatment program that has appeared to cure multiple Lyme patients since 2009, this statement is based on before and after laboratory results and the patient’s drastic improvement.
Many of these patients like Dr. Sponaugle’s daughter were made much worse by two years or more of antibiotics. They like Dr. Sponaugle’s daughter, became more sickly from the antibiotics than the actual Lyme infection.
Some of Dr. sponaugle’s Lyme infection patients are willing to talk to any family suffering from Lyme disease, although there is no guarentee all patients will get the same results. The most important thing we can do to assist patients fighting chronic Lyme is to upregulate their own immune system.
Steve – Lyme Disease
Steve’s testimony is on our website, he works in a high level top security position for our government, therefore, his Lyme treatment was directed by top Lyme doctors at both, John’s Hopkins Medical Center and Georgetown University Medical Center. After nine months of their mega dose antibiotic regimen, Steve had suffered severe side effects from the antibiotics.
He lost 40 pounds secondary to antibiotic induced gastrointestinal dysbiosis. Dr. Sponaugle’s research has proven that GI dysbiosis causes severe serotonin and Taurine deficiency with subsequent anxiety and insomnia. Multiple Sclerosis is a common concern when patients suffer untreated Lyme Disease. The Lyme toxin destroys the myelin sheath of brain neurons. Multiple Sclerosis is the diagnosis given to patients when “bright spots” or “white spots” are seen throughout the brain on an MRI, these white spots demonstrate scarring of myelin, the fatty insulation sheath that surrounds the axon of brain neurons.
Because America’s neurologists are naive in comparison to European neurologists regarding neurotoxicity in general, and in particular, the fact that some mold toxins and the toxin produced by the Borrellia Lyme bacterium can cause severe demyelination of nerve axons, they remain ill-knowledgeable that their Multiple Sclerosis patients often suffer from both, Lyme Disease and concomitant mold toxicity.
Dr. Sponaugle has diagnosed Lyme Disease in many of his addicted patients who were suffering from severe brain fog.
Concomitantly, Dr. Sponaugle has diagnosed many Multiple Sclerosis patients with Lyme disease and Mycoplasma, two “bugs” that live inside the body’s cells, these bugs destroy nerve tissue and like the Trichothecene T 2 Black Mold toxin, interfere with RNA-DNA replication in the nucleus of brain neurons.

These “sickest” patients generally prove to have severe neurotoxicity [brain toxicity] because their HLA DRBQ genetics prevent effective removal of fatty toxins. The excessive fatty neurotoxins shut down their brain’s pituitary gland output and while also down regulating their immune system. They typically have a diminished ratio of CD4/CD8 Lymphocytes as well as diminished antibodies and a frightfully low natural killer cell count, they have no ability to defend themselves from a pathogenic bug like the Lyme Spirochete.
These toxin ridden patients often state, “I catch every bug that comes around.” Their toxin induced, compromised immune status leaves them a setup for undiagnosed stealth infections like Lyme’s disease, Babesia, Bartonella and Mycoplasma. These “stealth bugs” drill their way into the cells, as intracellular bugs, they cause more insidious destruction, another straw on the camel’s back.
American medical training taught us well, how to treat dying patients with implantable devices and use Big Pharma drugs. We were however, taught very little regarding the ability to diagnose and treat industrial toxicity. Yet, in America, we have created 81,000 new synthetic chemicals since 1930!!
The top 100 most commonly used synthetic chemicals in American industry, have been tested and proven to cause severe neurotoxicity to the human brain and peripheral nervous system!! Industrial toxins and mold toxins are fatty toxins, they migrate to and deposit in the myelin sheath of our brain’s neurons. The human brain is 65 percent fat. The insulation on the nerves, the myelin sheath, is the fattiest part of the nervous system.
Patients who suffer excessive accumulation of neurotoxins in their brain often get diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. The “bright spots” or “white spots” as seen on MRI of the brain are actually, toxin induced “scarring” of the myelin sheath on multiple brain neurons. Organic solvent industrial toxins like Benzene and Toluene and mold toxins like the Black Mold “Trichothecene” toxin and the Aspergillus Mold “Ochratoxin,” destroy myelin in the human brain and the peripheral nerves producing Multiple Sclerosis.
